Lhong 1919, Bangkok’s newest Chao Phaya’s riverside lifestyle space across the river from China Town. The project has reclaimed a group of old warehouses and a Chinese shrine dating back in King Rama IV and still preserves paintings from that time. There is a rich, Sino-Thai history going back 167 years here that can be found in its architecture and culture.
Lhong 1919 sits on the old pier where the ancestors of most Thai-Chinese families first set their feet in Thailand after migrating from China. Besides being home to many Chinese immigrants in later years, the area around the pier is home to the shrine of Mazu, the goddess who is believed to bless sea travellers.
From Pullman Bangkok King Power, take BTS SkyTrain at Victory Monument Station to Saphan Taksin Station and then take a boat from Sathorn Pier to Lhong Pier to reach Lhong 1919 and immerse yourself into the Chinese-style atmosphere and enjoy shopping at several arts and craft shops.
