Pullman Bangkok King Power - Luxury hotel - Wat Phra Kaew

Wat Phra Kaew

Wat Phra Kaew or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (officially known as Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram) is regarded as one of the most important temples in Thailand. Located in the historic centre of Bangkok, within the grounds of the Grand Palace, it enshrines Phra Kaew Morakot (the Emerald Buddha), the highly revered Buddha image meticulously carved from a single block of jade. Phra Kaew Morakot wears an attire of gold and precious jewels is seated on a very ornate raised alter in the ubosot (ordination hall). Three times a year the king dresses it in a new gold outfit to usher in the new season: hot, rainy or cold.

From Pullman Bangkok King Power, grab a taxi and it will take around 30 minutes to reach Wat Phra Kaew. The temple can be visited everyday from 8.30 – 15.30 hrs.
